About ContentJet

ContentJet is a performance creative company specializing in UGC and performance advertising. We have produced 19,000+ videos and our creative has generated billions of views for brands around the world. We are now building our own technology platform to replace our current operations stack and become the central operating system for our teams, clients, creators, and creative strategists. The platform will combine workflow management with AI-assisted product analysis, creative research, winning-ad intelligence, data classification, campaign strategy, and performance feedback loops.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on Fractional CTO to provide senior technical leadership while ContentJet builds a new platform that will replace Monday.com as the company's operational backbone and add AI-powered creative intelligence and strategy. This is not a ceremonial advisory role. We need someone who can challenge architecture, reduce technical risk, guide the engineering team, and help us make strong build-versus-buy, data, security, infrastructure, and AI decisions early.

What You'll Do

  • Define and continuously review the platform's technical architecture and engineering roadmap.
  • Translate business priorities into a sequenced technical plan with clear milestones, dependencies, risks, and acceptance criteria.
  • Guide the migration strategy from Monday.com, including data modeling, historical data migration, validation, cutover, rollback, and business continuity.
  • Review architecture for workflow management, APIs, AI services, ad-data ingestion, media processing, analytics, permissions, audit logs, and reporting.
  • Set pragmatic engineering standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, observability, CI/CD, environments, and release management.
  • Review major pull requests, architecture decisions, schemas, API contracts, and infrastructure choices where senior oversight adds leverage.
  • Coach and unblock the Full-Stack and Backend Developers and help establish effective engineering rituals without adding unnecessary process.
  • Assess technical candidates and support hiring, onboarding, role definition, and performance expectations for the engineering team.
  • Evaluate third-party vendors, APIs, cloud services, AI models, and tooling; make build-versus-buy recommendations.
  • Establish a practical security and data-governance baseline, including access control, secrets, backups, logging, privacy, vendor risk, and disaster recovery.
  • Help design reliable AI systems with appropriate evaluation, observability, fallbacks, human review, cost controls, and protection against low-quality or incomplete source data.
  • Provide leadership with concise visibility into delivery status, technical debt, risks, resourcing needs, and tradeoffs.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous CTO, VP Engineering, Head of Engineering, Principal Engineer, or equivalent technical leadership experience.
  • 10+ years in software engineering with substantial hands-on architecture and production-system experience.
  • Track record of taking SaaS, workflow, data, or marketplace products from early architecture through reliable production use.
  • Strong understanding of modern web architecture, backend systems, relational data modeling, cloud infrastructure, security, and DevOps.
  • Practical experience with AI/LLM-enabled products and the limitations of AI systems in production.
  • Experience with data integrations, external APIs, asynchronous processing, and systems that depend on third-party data.
  • Ability to identify overengineering and underengineering and choose solutions appropriate to company stage and risk.
  • Strong hiring, mentoring, technical-review, and engineering-management judgment.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical leadership and connect engineering choices to business outcomes.
  • High availability for critical architecture and delivery decisions despite the fractional nature of the role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in ad-tech, mar-tech, creative-tech, media, analytics, or AI-native SaaS.
  • Experience leading a migration from a major no-code/work-management platform to a custom operational system.
  • Experience with video/media pipelines and high-volume third-party API ingestion.
  • Experience helping a non-technical or lightly staffed organization establish its first mature internal engineering function.
  • Experience managing distributed engineering teams across Europe, North America, and/or LATAM.

What Success Looks Like

  • ContentJet has a clear, pragmatic architecture and roadmap before irreversible technical decisions are made.
  • The engineering team has strong standards, clear ownership, and enough senior guidance to move quickly without accumulating avoidable risk.
  • The Monday.com migration has a safe, testable cutover plan and the new platform is designed as a durable system of record.
  • Leadership has clear visibility into technical tradeoffs, risks, delivery progress, and future resourcing needs.

Perks & Benefits

  • Fully remote work with an international team.
  • Performance-based bonuses.
  • High ownership and direct influence over a platform that will become core infrastructure for the company.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of performance marketing, creative strategy, AI, data, and workflow automation.
  • Fast-moving environment with direct access to company leadership and short decision-making cycles.
  • Performance-based bonuses apply; as a part-time/fractional engagement, this role does not include paid time off.

How We Work

We value ownership, speed, clear communication, practical problem-solving, and measurable outcomes. You will work closely with leadership and with the people who use the platform every day. We expect engineers to understand the business problem behind a feature, question weak assumptions, and help design better solutions.
